Nokia has introduced the new Lumia 800 with Windows Phone 7.5. This is a high-quality chassis of the N9 phone with hardware for Windows Phone. It will be on the Czech market in January 2012. Thanks to the Nokia Drive application, the phone can be used as a car navigation. Through the Zune pass, you can download unlimited music. Last but not least, it is equipped with the highest quality web browser on the phone market.
At the Nokia World 2011 conference in London, the first European phone Lumia 800 was introduced. The live broadcast was available online. It will be produced in blue, red, black and white. Its chassis, taken from the N9 model, is made of a single piece of polycarbonate. The 3.7” AMOLED display with PenTile matrix and 24-bit depth is covered with a capacitive touch layer, polarizing filter and tempered glass.
The SIM card slot is for the size of a microSIM, so owners of a (classic) miniSIM card must exchange it in their operator’s store. The exchange is free of charge for all Czech operators. The built-in miniature camera is suitable, for example, for taking photos of maps, timetables, or opening hours. A Carl Zeiss lens would suit a digital SLR more than just a phone. The sensor itself has such a high resolution that it unnecessarily increases the noise level. The battery can be replaced, but only in an authorized service center.
Internet Explorer on Windows and Windows Phone has the same rendering engine. Given that Windows Phone falls under the Entertainment & Devices division, we can expect a connection with Xbox in the near future. Since Windows Phone has unified hardware, it is not necessary to monitor the processor clock speed (1.4 GHz) and so on. Microsoft engineers make sure that the system runs swiftly on the specified hardware. If it becomes obsolete, it will not allow the operating system to be updated on it.
