IE will indeed split, but in a different way than journalists claim

When you observe the transmission of information, it is amusing to watch how the information is distorted until it becomes something that has nothing to do with the original information. Mary Jo Foley, who lives in Redmond and is close to the information, came to ZDNet with the news that Microsoft will release a different web browser. The information was taken over by Neowin, WinBeta, VentureBeat, The Verge, Lupa and others. But nothing new has come to light. This information was available a month and a half ago. Let’s recall what we already know about IE 12.

Redesigned user interface

The fact that Microsoft is working on the next version of IE is always true. When one version is finished, work on the next one begins. IE 12 is apparently codenamed Spartan. Usually, such reports are interpreted as something being worked on. But at the time of the speculation about the code name, IE 11 had been out for a year, so the next version had been in the works for a long time. What is more important is what is actually being worked on. If you followed my Twitter, you knew that IE 12 was supposed to have a redesigned user interface two months before WinBeta found out.

Throttled Compatibility Mode

Internet Explorer has a wide range of emulation options for older versions. Both browsers and standards. You can switch between Standards / Almost Standards / Quirks and independently between Edge / IE 10 / IE 9 / IE 8 / IE 7 / IE 5. The author of a web page has the power to command IE to emulate an older version of it. Well, yes, but then he shouldn't be surprised that things don't work in IE that work in other browsers. They are not affected by the emulation of the older IE mode. So Microsoft decided to change this and took away the right to emulate an older version of the website. It will leave the right only to end users and those who are familiar with AD and Enterprise Mode.

New render mode

Each version of IE also brought a new rendering mode. IE 12 will do it for the last time. The new render mode Edge (which is always the designation for the latest render mode) will be forced. As a web designer, you can't rely on your site to render in compatibility mode. That’s only when you're doing ERP or intranets. But nothing happens, the old pages will still work if they have been debugged for WebKit.

This is the fresh view of things, a new abstract browser, the essence of which is hidden from the superficial perception of information.
